FRANK & EILEEN: Tell us the story of how you founded and restored Seven Lakes Inn—it's so beautifully designed with the perfect balance of luxury and comfort.

JORDAN: My mom and I purchased the property in 2021 after many years of creative scheming and family visits to Belgrade Lakes. When the Inn became available, I was already planning a move from Sonoma County to Maine, so the timing was perfect. Now I live here on the property (and often feel guilty about having the best rooms in the house) while running the bed and breakfast. As for its design, I love to research timeless traditions or historic design periods and find interesting ways to add modern touches. This interest started early when my mom and I would frequent flea markets and travel abroad. During that time, I developed an eye for selecting and breathing new life into antiques. Whenever I have a day off from the Inn, you will likely find me scouring the aisles of New England's antique shops!

F&E: You now split your time between Maine and California. How does your personal style change between the coasts and seasons, and what are your favorite pieces?

JORDAN: My personal style has definitely become more streamlined with my bicoastal travel and running around the Inn; the items in my closet have to be functional, adaptable, and lightweight for packing. I lean heavily on layering for the days that start out in the kitchen, then lead to greeting guests, and then end with an evening boat ride with family. I love linens, softer materials, and classic, comfortable silhouettes, which is why I love my Frank & Eileen pieces. They’re perfect for my summers in Maine and winters in California, and they embody that same aesthetic that I strive for in my creative projects: classic and comfortable but refined.

F&E: You looked for the right space to open a bed and breakfast for several years before landing on Seven Lakes and ultimately moving cross-country to open the inn. What advice do you have for women looking to make a big leap in their life and work?

JORDAN: I am certainly no expert, but my biggest piece of advice would be to get incredibly clear on your 'why.' If you want something badly enough, you will make it happen, but getting clear about your reason for committing to that next big move will make stepping out of your comfort zone—and all the new and unexpected challenges along the way—a little less scary, and it will also give you the focus to not let any failures or mistakes deter you from your vision. Similarly, always trust your intuition, which, through practice, will continue to get louder if you let it and lead you to more beauty and joy than you could have ever imagined!
