FRANK & EILEEN: You previously designed a jewelry line and now work as a creative director. What do you most love about the work you do, and what led you to this path? How did jewelry design prepare you for the work you do now?

MEREDITH: I was a Creative Director before I started my jewelry line. I think the two influenced each other. I got tired of catering to others in my day-to-day work. So, I created this jewelry line to have as a creative outlet. After I had a baby, time didn't allow for both. I had to end the jewelry line to be more present and focus on being a mother.

F&E: We know you’re working on a new project – a soon-to-launch skincare company you co-founded with a friend. What can you tell us!

MEREDITH: My friend and I started a year-long project to create a skincare and beauty line for tweens out of a need for our own kids. However, as we began building the brand, we realized that this is about much more than just products. We have the opportunity to empower future generations to focus on inner beauty before turning to external validation. Our aim is to encourage kids to be confident in themselves and to silence any voices telling them that they are not enough. Thus, the brand oo-mi was born, a clean kid-friendly and parent-approved beauty line that believes self-care, self-expression, and self-love should be daily rituals. Our goal is not to make kids beautiful–because they already are. We simply want to ensure that they feel it.

F&E: You live in a beautiful old Edwardian in San Francisco. Tell us the short story of your home.

MEREDITH: We fell in love with the neighborhood before the house. After having our daughter, it made sense to move into a house we could raise her in. The home was built in 1907, and it's perfect for our family of four—the fourth being our four-legged daughter!

F&E: What guides the curation of your home? Does the interior feel set after living there for 7+ years, or is it instead a project that’s forever evolving? What are your favorite Bay Area shops for home goods/ decor?

MEREDITH: Most of what I collect are vintage items from our travels and flea markets. The decor in our space is a reflection of my eclectic style, which combines old and new pieces. After living here for more than seven years, I feel settled in.

F&E: We’re so inspired by your style and the ways you effortlessly mix new items with vintage. What do you look for when shopping vintage? Do you have a coveted piece you’re always looking for?

MEREDITH: The beauty of vintage, worn, and aged clothing lies in the story that it carries. That feeling of a piece that fits your body perfectly is how I know it's the one. Each piece has its own story, and when I look for clothing, whether old or new, I consider how it relates to me, how I live, and how it can complement other pieces in my closet. I definitely can't resist an old, raggedy, worn denim that has been with someone else for a long time.

F&E: What are some of the pieces in your closet you reach for again and again?

MEREDITH: I have a few favorite pieces in my wardrobe that I absolutely love. If I could, I would wear them every day. These include Frank and Eileen's white button-ups paired with loose and relaxed vintage Levi denim. To me, this outfit is perfection.
