Welcome to House of Frank & Eileen, our home for community design by women, for women.

Our latest collaboration is with the inimitably funny actress and comedian Chloe Fineman, and her effortlessly chic artist mom, Ellen Gunn. As Chloe points out, we all share "a deep, deep obsession with stripes" and figured, why have one ridiculously good stripe…when you can have two?

Two iconic women. Two really good stripes. Two must-have button-up silhouettes.

To infuse Chloe Fineman, and her mom, Ellen Gunn’s incredible energy, sense of humor, and personal, stripe-obsessed style into two of our most iconic silhouettes was a lot of fun. We sat down for a cuppa with the NYC-based actress and comedian to chat all things creativity, on-set style, and why a tailored blue button-up is truly life-changing.

Frank & Eileen: How did this collaboration with Frank & Eileen come about? What draws you to our woman-owned, woman-led, B Corp-certified brand?

Chloe: It all started with an Instagram post I made of me and my mom laughing about our insane combined striped shirt collection, and my mom and I freaking out when Frank & Eileen wrote "we have the same problem" or something like that, because we have been wearing their button-ups for years! It was a match made in heaven, not only because of our deep, deep obsession with stripes, but also my personal love of female-founded brands! Audrey really understands making menswear that is still tailored and perfect for the woman's body!

Frank & Eileen: How do you approach your own personal style? Is there a way certain items of clothing, let's say the perfect button-up, make you feel?

Chloe: I am forever failing at a capsule collection. I just love clothing so much, I can never STOP buying things. However, I really like classic styles and clothing you can actually live in, but feel elevated in. Hence, my love for a perfect button-up. Nothing is chicer OR comfier! Over some chic lounge pants or boxers in summer, come on! Or tucked into jeans—a button-up is just classic for a reason. As I've gotten more passionate about clothing, I've noticed that tailored clothing really takes you from looking good to great! Wear things that fit your proportions—which I sometimes lose sight of with trends—but man, a button-up that fits right…nothing is chicer!

Frank & Eileen: Is there such a thing as too many stripes? What inspired the perfect stripe you co-designed with us?

Chloe: No. Such. Thing! Like I said, I'm terrible at condensing all my button-ups down to a small capsule collection, because each stripe is its own special work of art. They truly, truly go with everything, and you can never have enough! I think I have at least ten blue striped shirts. But then some are navy, some are baby blue, some are bright blue…totally, totally different. For the collaboration with House of Frank & Eileen, we wanted to take our love of a great blue striped shirt, but make one we really hadn't seen yet. We leaned into a multi-striped blue and a more white-than-blue blue—both are so special and perfect!

Frank & Eileen: Your career as an actor and comedian is so varied. Does your work influence what you wear? If so, how and why?

Chloe: I love to play with what I wear, but I do feel my best when I put a little extra effort into putting an outfit together. It's like cooking. It's annoying and takes a little time, but man, is it worth it! I think coming up as an actor in school, we were encouraged to be "neutral" and we all wore black, but then comedy was a lot of not being too dressed up—lots of girls in sneakers and a hoodie. Now it's really changed for women, and we all just wear what we want, which I love. I like how women aren't afraid to dress up and feel great on stage!
